Hello,
Ok, that’s embarrassing considering I was an Information Technology (IT) professional for Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie, Texas for 34 years and now I can’t fill out an application online. I’m retired and looking for a part-time outlet to earn a little pocket money for my other expensive hobbies – besides drinking that is. My other hobbies include cars, home improvement, motorcycles, travelling, SCUBA Diving and Audio/Home Theater. In another life I’d have been a home builder. I love construction projects but I’m married now so thankfully we have a newer home that doesn’t need any walls knocked out.
With regard to the job at hand, I found out about your company from my niece, Kimberly Franklin in Austin. I didn’t know she was into liquor at all until I mentioned bourbon and she told me about hosting the tastings. I was hooked immediately as I’ve been attending the Learning to Drink classes at our local Total Wine for years and enjoying them all. I like spicy, high-rye, Bourbons, Scotches, not the heavily peated varieties, Tequilas and since my wife’s family is from Jamaica, I know a little about Rum. My wife drinks Gin. Vodka and wine. We were just in Malaga, Spain (south coast) for our 10th wedding anniversary last September and I bought her a guided wine tasting/local food tour of the city. Our guide was Linda from the UK who is now living there with her family. She was excellent and we both enjoyed the morning. I had to put my wife back to bed after we finished. I have no idea how Linda made it home. I know she took the train but I doubt she walked a straight line to get there. Great memory for the anniversary.
We love to travel so I need something that is not rigidly scheduled and very flexible. I think the tastings as my Kim described them to be are just what I need to get me out of the house. I’ve recently completed the TABC course and now have a framed copy of my Texas Liquor License. I’m very proud. I’m free to start whenever you are ready for me. No special needs or restrictions for me.
Thank you very much for your consideration,
Steve Stevenson
